Credit > Establishing Better Credit(3)
Obtain a merchant card
Apply for cards from retail stores or gasoline companies. Department store and gas cards are usually easier to qualify for. They are usually more liberal concerning approval on lines of credit. Tire stores, jewelry stores, furniture stores, and appliance stores are other good sources for "easier" credit. The credit limit that they approve is normally lower than a major credit card would offer, but making reasonable monthly charges and paying consistent monthly payments on them will enable you to reestablish credit. Establishing credit will help you to qualify for major credit cards with higher credit limits that will build even more credit for you.
